Reflect upon how concept learning and methods of inquiry are being used to facilitate powerful teaching and learning of social studies in your placement classroom. If you have not seen social studies, comment how you might use these strategies in your own classroom.

Week of September 23

Discuss and assess the approach to lesson planning in social studies used in your field placement school. If you do not see social studies, you may speak about it in general terms. From this analysis, determine what qualities constitute a good lesson plan.

Week of September 16

Discuss effective strategies for the integration of social studies that you have observed in your field placement classroom. How might you employ these curriculum strategies in your own classroom?
